Summary (from Goodreads):

I’m pushing aside the memory of my nightmare,
pushing aside thoughts of Alex,
pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school,
push,
push,
push,
like Raven taught me to do.
The old life is dead.
But the old Lena is dead too.
I buried her.
I left her beyond a fence,
behind a wall of smoke and flame.

Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

My review:

SPOILER ALERT

I… I think I just don’t know what to say. This book has turned out to be everything that I didn’t expect. Well, I, for sure, did not expect that this story would end up in a love triangle situation. Who would’ve? In Delirium it was just all about Alex and Lena and their ‘sickness’ and how they’re planning to be together and happy. But they failed, Alex was left behind, caught by the city people and let Lena go beyond the fence, alone.

Of course, that is one hard thing for Lena, yes? She doesn’t know anything in being an Invalid. She doesn’t know a single thing about a life outside the barriers of Maine. But at least Raven and her people found her, almost dying, and took care of her and gave her people to call hers. She found ‘family’ within each one of them. Raven, being the sister and mother that she never had. They have bonded well and stayed with each other until the very end. I love how they became so close, that they reached the point of rescuing Lena and Julian at the end of the story. I love how Raven is loyal to their friendship and how she doesn’t want to show emotions. She always puts this tough face even though she feels bad and sad. And I feel the same with Tack, he isn’t that much of a talker in the book but I know he supports and trusts Lena and I like him about that.

Okay, so moving on to Julian. He is a good guy. I can’t say bad things about him because he didn’t know what was happening, what is what or who is who, all he knows is that everyone against the rule, the DFA are Invalids. He is too ignorant and he is not to be blamed that he doesn’t know anything. Every one at the city is forced to believe that nothing is better than being cured. And I also couldn’t blame him for loving Lena, I mean, she is nice, strong, independent and wise. And Lena is the first girl that he has ever made contact with. So yea, he fell for her.

The only thing I don’t like is Lena falling for him either. Okay, I’m sorry but I’m on Team Alex LOL I admired him in Delirium and while I was reading Pandemonium, I keep thinking:
‘What about Alex, Lena?’
‘Oh please, don’t just forget Alex that easily.’
‘Oh don’t kiss him, Lena. That is called cheating. And in a relationship, that is beyond illegal.’
‘Alex is alive, Lena. He can’t just be dead just because Lauren Oliver says so LOL’

Am I right? She couldn’t just forget about him that easily, I mean, it has only been 5 months she got out and back from the Wilds. No one gets to move on in just half a year, especially if you really loved that person and when you were once willing to share everything with him and show everything to him. Well, I know I’m just frustrated about Lena falling in love with another guys so fast. Forgive me, readers. I’m just carried away by my emotions LOL

But of course, no one’s to be blamed. Just the government, just the way things should be and should not be in their world. It is not Julian’s fault because he is weak, vulnerable and innocent. It is his first time to do things like that. It isn’t Lena’s fault because she’s just lonely, she misses Alex and life in the wilds made this out of her. She became tough, strong and longing for the people she loves. It isn’t Alex’s fault because at the first place, he really wanted to be with Lena into the Wilds, only these stupid police officers caught him and separated them. And it obviously isn’t Raven’s fault LOL

That is all. And oh, my beloved readers, Alex is alive LOL Just thought you might want to know. I warned you that this contains spoilers, correct? Oh Alex, go back in the story please, please, please. I’ll be waiting for the next book.
