Summary (from Goodreads):

Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie’s dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

My review:

Okay, so as the usual reviews, this will be containing spoilers.

Oh, this book is bleeping awesome! I have read a lot of reviews, reactions, negative comments about this book and I doubted it. I thought it would suck big time and I thought it wouldn’t be worth my time but hey! I shouldn’t have doubted it. It is a good book! Paranormalcy is very funny and I got hooked to it. I wanted to read more even though I had to get to work with my finals for school. So I say that this is a great book and I will definitely read Supernaturally.

So, like my other reviews I’ll do this in bullet form. I have my likes and dislikes about it. Read the book and tell me that you find my dislikes, likeable LOL so here it is:

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
✘ I didn’t like Evie’s bleeping obsession with pink. God, it irritated me when I read about the part where she had asked someone to make her a knife, a personalized knife, a pink personalized knife! And her hot pink boots! Ohhh isn’t that catchy! Her room has a hot pink curtain and her Taser’s handle, is also pink! Uh, hello? Are we talking about Barbie or Hello Kitty here? NO. Evie’s character is much better off if she isn’t too much girly. I think it’s better if she loves black or grey or red. A much stronger color.

✘ And her Taser has a name. Yes it does! Its name is… Tasey. Very creative. I should give her a credit for that.

✘ Vivian. She creeps the bleep out of me. But I felt bad for her cos all she wanted was to be filled and be happy cos she somehow is all alone. And just wanted Evie to be with her and continue what she’s dong with her. All she ever wanted was a sister.

WHAT I LOVED:
✔ Reth. Okay, as much as Evie wanted to get rid of him, I loved how he was described as beautiful and he is a faerie, so what’s not to like? LOL And he isn’t the bad person here. He is trying to fill Evie, he is helping her because his court made her and she belongs to them. But poor Reth, he was misunderstood by Evie. Still, I like him.

✔ David and Arianna. I just like them. They accepted Evie and helped her live a normal life. David enrolled her to school and Arianna dresses her and made her makeup for prom. BTW, David and Arianna aren’t together. Arianna is a vampire and David is, just David.

✔ Alisha. Lish. She was sweet and all she does was to support Evie. Even though she cannot be with her physically cos she’s a mermaid and she has to be inside an aquarium, she watches ‘Easton Heights’ with her with the use of a communicator. She is Evie’s best friend. It was sad to read about her death. I’ve always loved mermaids.

✔ Lend. Okay, so I really can’t imagine his “water” body as Evie had described it. All I see in my mind are the amoeba boys in Power Puff Girls LOL Anyway, still she said that he was beautiful, more beautiful than Reth. So that is enough for me to like his physical appearance. And I like his power, a shape shifter. He’s gorgeous in my mind but I think he is a little weak. He keeps on looking scared and I think he lacks strength to protect Evie. But hey, he can always practice! LOL

✔ Evie. Of course, her obsession with pink aside, she is pretty, smart, she thinks on her own and acts impulsively and not to mention she is funny, sarcastic. I love sarcastic characters! They make me want to read more of the book. And she didn’t really push herself to Lend. She always think if he likes her but she didn’t push it. I like that about her. And oh, I didn’t like another thing about her, she seems to cry a lot. But who wouldn’t cry if their best friend died, right? Who wouldn’t cry if almost everything that was happening around her, was most likely her fault? So I kind of understand her.

So, mostly likes so it is right to give this book 4 stars! *Yipee* It deserves it. This book is bleeping fantastic! I’m looking forward to reading Supernaturally. Toodles!
