Summary (from Goodreads):

Nora Grey’s life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn’t pleasant, but at least she got a guardian angel out of it: a mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But, despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He’s more elusive than ever and even worse, he’s started spending time with Nora’s arch-enemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadnt been acting so distant. Even with Scott’s totally infuriating attitude Nora finds herself drawn to him – despite her lingering feeling that he’s hiding something.

Haunted by images of her murdered father, and questioning whether her nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death, Nora puts herself increasingly in dangerous situations as she desperately searches for answers. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything – and everyone – she trusts.

My Review:

This book made me teary eyed, for a bit. Even though I’ve read it the second time, I still felt the story and I love it. I felt disappointed though at some parts though.

What made me disappointed in this book? Yeah, a lot.

1. First, Nora is being a pain in the ass. She couldn’t get herself to trust Patch, even just a bit. Jealousy and anger rose from her heart, always. I know it’s not hard to see the one you love with someone else but she didn’t think of what was Patch was going through and she keep on blocking Patch away from her. How could he communicate with her? She doesn’t even want him to be her guardian angel anymore. Oh Pride, do you really need to box up a person and make her completely regretful with her choices? Because that’s what I see with Nora here. She is also too vulnerable. I noticed that in Hush hush, the first book, Chauncey was able to manipulate her and spoke to her mind. And also Patch, he made Nora see things that he wanted her to see. And now Rixon. She’s a bit weak, I might say. Easily manipulated and accessed by some Fallen Angel or Nephilim.

2. Patch, he somehow annoyed me in this book. He could have explained to Nora what he was doing protecting Marcie. Well, he did but Nora wasn’t able to understand that. I know, he is balancing the scale because he doesn’t want to be caught by the Archangels, and doesn’t want them to know that he’s in love with Nora but sheez, he doesn’t have to kiss Marcie and hang with her every time. He needs to protect her but being her boyfriend and guardian are two different things. Other than that, I love Patch. He did try to communicate with Nora and give her tidbits about her true dad. Plus points for the effort! LOL

3. Rixon, if this was my first time to read the book, I’d say I was shocked to know that Rixon is a traitor, and was jealous of Patch. I liked him! I mean, he was the bestfriend-type of guy, yeah? Well, I couldn’t blame him about being jealous, Patch and him were in the “fallen-angel-living-on-earth” thing, together and it was really unfair for Patch to have his wings back and be left alone. But still, I hated what he’d done to Nora. He deserved where Patch had sent him.

4. Marcie, this I guess would be obvious enough. She is the typical cheerleader-bitch-boyfriend-thief-and-all-beauty-no-brains that we all hate when we were in high school. Yeah, we all have those kind of people. She’s so insensitive. Repeating to Nora that her dad was dead, knowing that she’d spray painted on Nora’s locker and just being a full-time bitch makes me want to slap her with a fish. First off, Nora’s dad, Harrison Grey, wasn’t one of Marcie’s business. Secondly, she shouldn’t have pulled off her anger with Blythe to Nora. It’s not her fault her mom’s sleeping with her dad. Yeah? I do not like her and I do not feel sympathetic links toward her.

I guess, I’ve said it all. But hey, even if some of the parts annoyed me, I still love the book. It was meant to keep the story interesting. I just felt the need to rant LOL And oh, poor Vee. She’ll be single again. I find them cute together though, Rixon and Vee. And also Scott, I like him. I like his attitude towards Nora. I’m looking forward to see him to the next books.

I’m moving on to Silence now! Can’t wait! I’ve read Hush hush and Crescendo just to be ready for Silence. And here I am! I want more of Patch. MORE OF PATCH. Toodles!
