Summary (from Goodreads):

The ultimate battle between sisters is nearing, and its outcome could have catastrophic consequences. As sixteen year-old Lia Milthorpe searches for a way to end the prophecy, her twin sister Alice hones the skills she’ll need to defeat Lia. Alice will stop at nothing to reclaim her sister’s role in the prophecy, and that’s not the only thing she wants: There’s also Lia’s boyfriend James.

Lia and Alice always knew the Prophecy would turn those closest to them against them. But they didn’t know what betrayal could lead them to do. In the end, only one sister will be left standing.

My Summary:

This book is where the journey of Lia, going to Mt. Altus begins. She decides to live far away from her sister, Alice, and moves out and lived in London, for eight months with Sonia Sorrensen. She left her other friend Luisa Torelli, the other key, because she needs to finish her studies first. There, she met Dimitri Markov, a nice young gentleman, who happens to be mysterious at first and seems kind of attracted to Lia. After a few days, Virginia, Edmund and Luisa came to start their journey to Mt. Altus. Lia was accompanied by their most trusted butler, Edmund and her two friends, Sonia and Luisa. They are on their way to Mt. Altus when Edmund feels that there are some things that are following the,. Assuming that those are Hounds, big, wolf-like creatures, he thought they are in big danger. They set to camp and go and settle down for a while and make sure that the Hounds are not getting any nearer to them. When Edmund thinks that it is near enough they needed to run away using their horses and makes themselves safe. They reached a body of water, a river, where the Hounds couldn’t pass through because they fear water. Edmund tells them to cross and get to the other side. Luisa got there first and then Sonia’s horse stopped, thinking that the water is too fast and might as well be impossible to cross, Lia also stopped to help Sonia cross. When Sonia reached the other side, Lia was stuck and was losing hope. Then came Dimitri to the rescue. He passed through the Hounds like he was King and looked at them with powerful eyes. He helped Lia and they crossed the river. She thanks him and asked who he was. He answered that they are from the same bloodline or rather royalty in their world. He is Dimitri Markov of Altus, a member of the Grigori Council. He told her that he wasn’t suppose to help her, or even touch and be with her on this journey but he can’t help it, by looking at her he seems to be attached and is drawn to help her on her way to Altus. Dimitri joined them through their journey and is protecting her from all kinds of danger. Then they seem to be in love. While on their way to Altus, Lia notices that Luisa is acting like, somewhat strange and is doing something that really creeps her off. She doesn’t say a word and continues to spy on her, thinking that she might be controlled or has been condemned by the Souls. But to her surprise, Luisa is perfectly fine and is on her right mind; on the other hand, Sonia was the one being controlled by the souls. She was kept away from Lia ever since they knew that she has the will to put the medallion into Lia’s mark on her wrist. They reached Mt. Altus; Sonia was brought somewhere where she can be cured, while Luisa, Lia, Edmund and Dimitri enjoyed their stay in the place. They attended small parties and roamed around the place like its paradise. Then Dimitri told Lia that he loves her more than anything and of course, Lia responded with the same feeling. So the feeling is mutual. But then, where did that leave James? Lia was called to see her Great Aunt Abigail and talked to her, asking where the other page of the book is. She told her where it is hidden in a simple clue, afraid someone untrustworthy might hear it, and told her that some guards will guard them on their way to the missing page, after a day, she died. Lia kept the word in her mind and heard that after the lady Abigail, she can be crowned as the next Lady of Altus which she declines for she wasn’t ready for any responsibility, for people who are waiting for help; she wasn’t ready for anything at all at the moment. Then she puts the place on hold because she and the others doesn’t like Sister Ursula to get appointed to the position. The only people who are worthy to be the Lady of Altus before Ursula is Amalia and Alice. Then another journey came and this is to find the missing page for them to unlock the missing message and the prophecy. She went on accompanied by Dimitri and one guard and be left and be accompanied by another after a certain terrain. But the other guard was a traitor and led them to the army of Souls. Dimitri decided to change clothes, so that they would chase him instead of her and go different paths. But the strong guard, the one with the same as their symbol of snake on her neck is still following Lia. She manages to escape him and find the pages. She memorized the poem, word for word and when she’s sure she knows it all, she burned the piece and went to the church to wait form Dimitri. And they went back to London.

My Review:

The story is obviously nice, just like the first sequel, Prophecy of the sisters. But this second book is slow-paced. Its storyline is somewhat short, only elongated because of highfaluting words. But overall, the plot is good and the story is very catchy. I can’t wait to ready the next part J
